Enhancing Cybersecurity Education: The CyberSec EduCheck Project Collaboration

We collaborate with Coventry University in Wroclaw and KREA on the CyberSec EduCheck project. The project’s main goal is to improve the competencies of secondary school staff and, indirectly, computer science teachers, professionals, and organizations involved in cybersecurity education by creating innovative tools for working with students.

The goal is to develop competencies in the field of cybersecurity by:

  • Providing tools and training to help teachers effectively impart cybersecurity knowledge and develop students’ skills in protecting their data and devices.
  • Updating curriculum: revising existing curriculum to reflect current trends and threats in cyberspace and adapting them to different age groups and skill levels.
  • Creating new or adapting existing teaching materials to meet the needs of cybersecurity education so that they are attractive and understandable to students. Creating a Value Proposition for Identified Beneficiaries:

1.  A guide for high school teachers containing lesson plans aimed at increasing student resilience to cyber threats.

2. Best practices for leaders, teachers, and educators in preventing the negative impacts of cyber threats affecting students. Among other things, building mental resilience and self-esteem.

  • Providing educational materials on cyber security that enable teachers to learn effectively and have access to educational tools.
  • Collaborating with experts: engaging with local and national experts on cyber security and invite them to participate in webinars and conferences.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of teaching: identifying gaps in competencies in secondary schools.
  • Promoting best practices in cybersecurity: encouraging teachers and students to share their knowledge and skills with others, setting up support groups and actively participating in cybersecurity campaigns.
  • Monitoring changes in the cyber environment: keeping up to date with current threats and changes in the cyber environment to continuously adapt the curriculum.

Building a Cyber-Resilient Future: Empowering High School Students in Cybersecurity

Fulfilling these goals of the Cybersecurity for High Schools project will help to create more informed and competent students when it comes to protecting themselves from cyber threats, which in the long run will help to increase student awareness and competence and raise the overall level of cybersecurity in society.
